12.0 Ski Safety
In collaboration with "Norske Alpinanlegg and Fjelldestinasjoner"
12.1. We encourage all our skiing guests to wear a helmet, be considerate of other skiers and snowboarders, and follow the ski etiquette. It should be safe to ski with us, and we all share responsibility for safe skiing.
12.2. Responsibility to avoid injury: You must behave in a way that prevents injury to yourself or others.
12.3. Adjust your speed according to the conditions: You must ski in a controlled manner, adjusting speed and technique according to your skill level, terrain, snow conditions, and traffic at the resort.
12.4. Right of way: If you are coming from behind (above), you are responsible for avoiding a collision.
12.5. Overtaking/going downhill: It is prohibited to ski straight downhill, except during organized training. When overtaking another skier/snowboarder, you must give them enough space for both controlled and uncontrolled movements.
12.6. Starting, entering, or turning uphill in the slope: If you enter or turn uphill in a slope, you must ensure that this is done without posing a danger to yourself or others. The same applies when skiing after a stop.
12.7. Do not stop or sit in narrow or difficult-to-see areas.
12.8. Walking in the slope: If you are walking, you must only use the outer edges of the slope.
12.9. Ski brakes/retention straps: Ski brakes/retention straps are mandatory. Make sure your bindings are properly adjusted.
12.10. Respect signage: Follow all signs, markings, and instructions.
12.11. Assist in case of accidents: In case of injury, everyone has an obligation to help. Witnesses and contributors must provide their personal details. Alpine skiing involves a certain degree of risk, so exercise caution. Alcohol and skiing do not mix. Violations of the ski etiquette may lead to expulsion from the resort and invalidation of the ski pass without a refund.
13.0 Operational Disruptions
13.1. In the event of an operational disruption – meaning a ski lift shutdown and/or when more than 50% of the total available slopes at the time of purchase cannot be used – the holder of the ski pass is entitled to a proportional refund for the period during which the ski pass cannot be used. The operational disruption must last for at least 30 minutes, and the total duration of the disruptions must exceed 1/3 of the ski pass validity period. No refunds are given for the purchase of day passes, half-day passes, or hourly tickets.
13.2. Operational disruptions outside of the resort's control (force majeure): In cases of operational disruptions caused by factors outside the ski resort’s control, the refund will amount to 50% of the proportional refund the pass holder is entitled to under the previous point. This applies to disruptions caused by, for example, weather conditions, avalanches, lightning strikes, flooding, fires, power outages, pandemics, strikes, etc., which are conditions the resort could not reasonably have foreseen or accounted for at the time of purchase. It is up to the resort to document that the disruption was caused by such factors and that the resort could not have reasonably prevented or overcome the consequences.
Based on the above provision, it must be clear that the pass holder is not entitled to the full purchase amount, only a proportional refund for the period the season pass cannot be used. The maximum amount that can be refunded in case of insufficient snow is 50% of the ski pass purchase price, provided the resort is unable to open for the season. On the other hand, if the resort operates more than 1/3 of the season, the pass holder is not entitled to a refund.
In other words, refunds can only be requested for closed days that account for more than 1/3 of the total number of skiing days in the season. The refund will be 50% of the proportional amount for the period the ski pass cannot be used. This calculation involves dividing the value of the ski pass by the number of days in the season. This "daily rate" is crucial for determining the size of the refund claim.
It follows that any potential refund claim cannot be processed until after the season ends. Until the end of the season, the resort owner can therefore reject any refund requests. Any claims for refunds must be directed to the resort owner after this time.
