Narvik Resort / Narvikfjellet is Northern Norway's largest ski resort and Arctic adventure destination, beautifully situated between deep fjords and vast mountain ranges at the innermost part of Ofotfjorden. Located north of the Arctic Circle, at 68 degrees latitude, it offers excellent opportunities to experience Arctic natural phenomena year-round.
Narvikfjellet AS operates the tourism facility in the city mountain, as well as the company's associated services such as restaurant, ski school, ski shop, ski rental, hotels, cabin park, events, and activities, along with business development, sales, and bookings under the Narvikfjellet brand.
Narvikfjellet is divided into a non-profit company that owns the lifts and slopes, Narvikfjellet Allmenn AS, and a commercial company that handles all operations, Narvikfjellet AS. Narvikfjellet Allmenn AS is owned by Forte Narvik Invest 2 AS (83%) and the municipal property company Narvikgården AS (17%). Narvikfjellet AS is owned by Forte Narvik Invest 1 AS (88%) and Narvikgården (12%).
Our vision is for Narvikfjellet to become a complete year-round tourist destination that caters to holidaymakers from both national and international markets. We are developing infrastructure and projects related to the ski resort and have recently focused on establishing our own rental accommodations at the resort. Our goal is to ensure stable and economic growth while being a solid contributor to urban development and regional tourism development. Through our local commitment, we also aim to strengthen the city’s appeal as both a travel destination and a place to live—year-round.

FIS Alpine World Ski Championship 2029
At the FIS conference in Reykjavík in June 2024, it was announced that Narvik will host the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2029. Narvik secured this prestigious event over competitors Soldeu (Andorra) and Val Gardena (Italy).
The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships is the second-largest winter sports event globally, following the Olympic Winter Games. This means the world will soon experience this spectacular event set against the breathtaking Arctic landscape of Northern Norway, right in Narvik!
Narvik and Narvikfjellet have a rich history as a championship venue, having hosted numerous national championships, the Polar Light Cup, FIS races, the European Cup, the World Cup, and Junior World Championships.

Travel to Narvik Resort
Narvik is located in the heart of Nordland County, serving as a hub between Tromsø, Lofoten, and Bodø. Traveling to Narvik and Narvikfjellet is easy by car, train, plane, or bus. The nearest major airport is Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes, just 50 minutes away from Narvik city by car or airport bus.
You can also reach Narvik by train from Sweden via the Ofotbanen line or by car via the European Route 6 (E6) if you’re coming from Bodø to the south or Troms to the north. If you're coming from Lofoten or entering from the Swedish side, follow the European Route 10 (E10) until it intersects with the E6 toward Narvik.

Basecamp Narvik - Hotel & Apartments
Basecamp Narvik is a newly opened apartment hotel that launched in January 2024. Centrally located within the resort, it offers 54 rooms and apartments with self-catering facilities and dining areas. Each room features a private balcony facing the sea, showcasing breathtaking views of the fjord and vibrant city. The hotel provides free parking, a dedicated ski storage room, and is conveniently situated right in the ski area.

Northern Lights

Midnight Sun
The Midnight Sun is another incredible phenomenon that occurs during the summer when the sun doesn’t set below the horizon. The cable car Narvikfjellet is a popular attraction that offers visitors stunning views and easy access to the pristine Arctic wilderness of the high mountains. This modern cable car takes guests from approximately 200 meters to about 700 meters above sea level, where they can enjoy panoramic views of Ofotfjorden and the surrounding peaks.
